Investing in the Future of Precast Concrete in Northern BC

Jul 22, 2026

How our shop expansion is helping us better serve contractors, municipalities, developers, and communities for years to come.

For nearly 50 years, Grosso Precast has been committed to building more than precast concrete products. We’ve built long-standing relationships with contractors, municipalities, developers, engineers, and communities across Northern BC and Western Canada by providing dependable products, reliable service, and a commitment to doing the job right.

Since opening our doors in 1975, the construction industry has continued to evolve. Projects have become larger, infrastructure has become more complex, and the demand for quality precast solutions has continued to grow. Throughout that time, one thing has remained constant: our commitment to investing in the people, equipment, and processes that allow us to better serve our customers.

That commitment is what inspired our current shop expansion.

While adding to our facility is certainly an exciting milestone for our team, this project is about much more than increasing square footage. It’s an investment in the future of Grosso Precast, our customers, and the communities we proudly serve. By expanding our capabilities today, we’re preparing to support the infrastructure projects of tomorrow with the same quality, reliability, and service that have defined our business for decades.

Why Investing in Manufacturing Matters

Every precast concrete product has a story long before it reaches a jobsite.

Behind every catch basin, manhole, retaining wall, septic tank, utility structure, or custom precast product is a carefully planned manufacturing process that relies on skilled people, specialized equipment, and an efficient production environment. When those pieces come together, the result is a product built to perform for decades in some of the most demanding conditions.

As construction continues to grow across Northern BC and Western Canada, the need for dependable manufacturing partners grows alongside it. Contractors and municipalities rely on suppliers who can deliver consistent quality, communicate effectively, and help keep projects moving on schedule.

That’s why investing in our manufacturing facility is ultimately an investment in our customers.

Expanding our shop allows us to improve workflow, support more efficient production, and continue building the capacity needed to meet the evolving demands of the industry. It’s about ensuring that whether we’re producing a single custom structure or supplying products for a major infrastructure project, we have the resources in place to deliver the level of quality our customers expect.

Building the Next Chapter

Construction on the expansion has already reached several exciting milestones, with progress taking shape both inside and outside the building.

One of the first major accomplishments was the completion of the new shop floor, where more than 260 cubic metres of concrete were poured across two placements to create the foundation for the expanded facility. From there, work has continued with the installation of new 10-ton and 15-ton overhead cranes, providing a combined 25-ton dual pick capability that will support the safe and efficient handling of larger precast products throughout the shop.

Mechanical, electrical, and masonry work are also progressing, with each phase bringing the facility closer to completion.

While these are important construction milestones, they also represent something much bigger. Every improvement being made today is designed to strengthen our operations for years to come, allowing us to continue producing quality precast concrete products while improving efficiency throughout the manufacturing process.

Building Together

One of the most rewarding parts of this project has been the opportunity to work alongside other businesses from our region.

Construction has always been a collaborative industry, and projects of this scale are a reminder that great work is never accomplished by one company alone. Throughout the expansion, we’ve had the privilege of working with local partners including Quality Excavating, United Concrete, RL7 Mechanical, and Gridlock Electric, each contributing their expertise to help bring the project to life.

Working alongside other Northern BC businesses is something we value. These partnerships strengthen not only individual projects but the construction industry throughout our region. By supporting one another and combining our experience, we’re able to deliver better results for the customers and communities we all serve.

As our new facility continues to take shape, we’re reminded that this expansion isn’t simply about Grosso Precast. It’s also a reflection of the skilled trades, trusted partnerships, and shared commitment to quality that help build stronger communities across Northern BC.

What This Means for Our Customers

Whether you’re a contractor managing tight project schedules, a municipality planning critical infrastructure upgrades, an engineer specifying precast products, or a developer preparing for a new build, having a dependable manufacturing partner makes a difference.

Our investment today is designed to help us continue delivering the quality products and reliable service our customers have come to expect while creating opportunities to improve efficiency throughout our operations. As our facility grows, so does our ability to support projects across Northern BC and Western Canada with the same commitment to craftsmanship, communication, and dependable timelines that have defined Grosso Precast for decades.

Construction is an industry where every project depends on trust. Customers need to know their suppliers will stand behind their products, communicate openly, and deliver on their commitments. Those values have always been at the core of how we do business, and this expansion is another step toward ensuring we can continue meeting those expectations for years to come.

Investing in the Communities We Serve

Northern BC continues to grow, and with that growth comes the need for reliable infrastructure.

New residential developments, municipal upgrades, industrial projects, transportation improvements, and utility expansions all depend on strong, durable products built to perform in demanding conditions. As a local manufacturer, we’ve had the privilege of contributing to many of these projects over the past five decades, and we’re proud to continue playing a role in helping our region grow.

Investing in our facility is also an investment in the communities we serve. It reflects our confidence in the future of Northern BC and our commitment to continuing to support the contractors, municipalities, developers, and project teams building that future alongside us.

Being part of this region has always meant more than simply supplying precast concrete products. It’s about building relationships, supporting local industry, and contributing to projects that make a lasting impact on the communities we call home.

Looking Ahead

As construction on our shop expansion continues, we’re reminded that every milestone represents something bigger than the building itself.

It’s a reflection of where we’ve come from, the relationships we’ve built over the past 50 years, and the future we’re continuing to invest in.

From the first septic tank form built by Charlie Grosso in 1975 to the expanded manufacturing facility taking shape today, one thing has remained unchanged: our commitment to quality, reliability, and serving our customers with integrity.

While our facility is growing, the values that built Grosso Precast remain exactly the same.

We’re proud of how far we’ve come, grateful for the customers and partners who have been part of our journey, and excited for what’s ahead.

As we continue investing in our people, our capabilities, and our community, we look forward to supporting the next generation of infrastructure projects across Northern BC and Western Canada, delivering the same dependable precast solutions that have defined Grosso Precast for nearly 50 years.

Because building for the future starts with investing in it today.
